Coming from a place of Love not fear is my main focus of my personal journey as I ready myself on the next physical journey abroad.  This picture comes from a wetlands restoration/ market garden drainage/ chinampa growing style that I designed and implemented with a cast of characters.  It was the coldest, wettest spring on record in Palmerston North, New Zealand but managed to turn the problem into the solution.

Aquaculture is one of my main focuses in the permaculture world.  Here growing is Azolla and Duckweed, biomass crops for mulching growing beds and feeding soil.  It is just one example of waters bounty displaying its inherent life giving qualities.

Patterns recognition both inwardly and outwardly has given rise to a renewed focus in my life.  Education of others has always been a passion but now feel really inspired to embrace this and run with it.  I have recently finished teaching a course in Tamil Nadu India at a reforestation project.  It was a success as we trained up 30 more permaculture designers.  12 different countries and five continents made this group an amazing blend of knowledge and perspective. The first ever PDC in Malaysia was a well received and smaller courses and consultation has been in demand.  Singapore is getting an Introduction to Permaculture course on our last event of the Asia tour.  Off to France next to teach there and continue to bring this info out to the world.

Since my Ecovillage and Permaculture Design Course in '05 at Lost Valley Educational Center, I have worked in Costa Rica, New Zealand, and California on various permaculture projects.  Animal husbandry, aquaculture, education, market gardening, ecotourism, and tree crop management are some of the main farm tasks that i have taken on. I draw my inspiration from the natural world and ecology and find many signs and answers from the birds of this world. 

Food Forests are one of the ways that I envision growing an abundance of nutrient rich food to elevate human health.  This is an avocado that I planted as part of a subtropical/ temperate food forest in Nelson, New Zealand.  The correlation between human health, plant health, and soil health is a topic I am highly vested in.  This topic and others has lead me to delve deeper into the Biodynamic movement, biological agriculture movement, and fermentation/ raw living foods movement.

These pics are from the most sacred of all places for me:  the family business: Crouch's Treasure Lake.  In the end the Eastern Decidious forest is my home and I will eventually reclaim it as such.  This 70 acre parcel/20 acre pay fishing lake in Northern Kentucky still remains one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen despite my travels throughout America and abroad.  It faces great pollution everyday as being in the airshed of many coal fired power plants that line the great river that is the Ohio.  Mycoremediation ideas are fully welcomed and encouraged.  Earth care, people care, and fair share motivates me to educate others about this beautiful planet we live on and help to ensure that our generations to come will prosper.  Give back and you shall recieve.
