About

I am a young father of twin boys who cares deeply about the future of the Earth and humanity.

I am a strong promoter of intergenerational partnership in bringing about a just, sustainable, and peaceful world and I have a keen interest in sustainable livelihoods, especially in rural, developing contexts.

In 2006, I graduated from the Environmental Security and Peace Master's program at the University for Peace, Costa Rica, where I wrote my thesis on "Linking Natural Capital, Rural Livelihoods, and Conflict: Toward Governance for Environmental Security and Peace in Tajikistan" (http://www.untj.org/library/?mode=details&id=327). An elaboration of my thesis has been published by MIT Press (http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?ttype=2&tid=11804). I also hold degrees in Education and Comparative Literature from Brown University and Stanford University.

I worked as Earth Charter's International Youth Coordinator for over two years, coordinating a network that expanded to over 70 countries. Prior to that, I worked with humanitarian and educational organizations in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. I also have two years' experience working as a mental health care professional.

I am originally from Germany and was raised in the United States. I currently work as the Fellows Network Coordinator for the Donella Meadows Sustainability Institute (http://www.sustainer.org).
