Cambridge CitiVillage (UK)

A ‘CitiVillage’  is a new concept for living locally. It has emerged out of a ‘LETS’ (Local Exchange Trading System) developed since 1998 for residents of Cambridge (UK) and the surrounding area. We called our system ‘Only Connect’ (OC).  Over the years OC has developed into something more than a LETS. We have become also an active  network in which we share information related to living locally as residents and consumers.  We have combined the following activities : a skills exchange system (using a local currency), recycling of goods, a local consumers’ association and a residents’ information exchange on local issues. Members organise a programme of events where we can all meet and share.
