The mission of Both ENDS* is to strive for social justice and a sustainable environment by connecting
and empowering civil society organisations, key players in poverty reduction and the improvement of environmental governance.

The core of Both ENDS' activities is in making connections, between South and North, environment and
development, and between different sectors of society. Both ENDS supports inspiring, people-oriented
examples of sustainable development; viable alternatives to problematic mainstream approaches.
We particularly support environmental initiatives, which - born locally - can have an impact globally.
Since 1986, Both ENDS has supported more than 4,000 organisations by supporting
campaigns, networking, exchanging knowledge, building capacity and influencing
policy. Both ENDS has a longstanding strategic partnership with some 200
organisations and local networks. Our cooperation focuses on local and
participative approaches towards the use and management of natural resources.
The central themes are sustainable land use, water management and international
capital flows.
