About
Greetings from Aotearoa New Zealand
It is a cold winters night here in the south Pacific and I am finally finding the time to engage with this exciting new community called WiserEarth.
I was recently in San Francisco for the Fifth International Symposium for Digital Earth. I was part of a group of young New Zealanders who came to the United States to support this event. To help us arrive and prepare we co-created an event called the Youth Insight Collaboratory which bought together a group of 30 young changemakers from Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
Here is an image of our crew on stage at Digital Earth:
For more information about the collaboratory check out Matt Waxman's article on worldchanging.com.
Over the weekend of Youth Insight we had the pleasure of meeting Melinda Kramer from Wiser and then at Digital Earth we heard Melinda and Peggy Duvette speak about the WiserEarth Project. On behalf of myself and the New Zealand Youth crew, thank you both for your generosity and presence.
Another treasure from my visit to San Francisco was seeing Paul Hawken speak at The Long Now Foundation.
We met so many great people and made some very special friends.
