About

My passion is to change the world of health care. To give everyone the same opportunity to take care of their own health, as those who can afford to. I am working in 2 dynamic organisations, in the UK, at the forefront of this process of change.
We are involved in a nation-wide project called 'Stand Up and Be Counted' in the UK. This is very simple - if everyone who has ever benefited from Complementary Medicine - stands up - and gives £1 out of their own pocket, we can raise enough money to push through to doctors' surgeries an integrated approach to health care. It's very simple.
We have started already.
Our organisation, The PHI (HealthCare) Trust, has established three local branches and is looking to set up groups in every area in the country.
We are also piloting, in association with a mental health charity, a project that will fundamentally change the lives of service-users. And running a large scale fund-raising campaign over World Mental Health Week in October.
We are also developing projects for ex-offenders and in prisons themselves. This is just the beginning.

Alongside this work, we have a seperate organisation - a business here in the UK called a Social Enterprise.
The success of our business is as important as the success of our charitable organisations.
It is a fact that businesses can help the process of change. But they need to be good businesses, well run businesses. Businesses that can afford to pay their workers well. Businesses that don't create undue stress on their staff because of organisational inefficiences.
Most of all, they must have a heart. Function as human beings do. With respect and love. And  is important that they are places where people enjoy going to work. Where there is a sense of achievement and interest in the hours they will spend doing their jobs.
Having worked for some very cold companies, I know how terrible clock-watching is for hour on end. Businesses who create that kind of monotony for their staff, will eventually die away.  But, to do this, we have to replace them with businesses that care.

We are trying to do a lot and, at the same time, we work hand-in-hand with many different kinds of people. Here, in the UK, there is definitely a feeling that people are slowly ready for some kind of change, and people are coming out of the woodwork all the time to participate.
The most beautiful thing is the levels of love and shared sense of purpose we meet on the road.
It's as if so many people have been wanting to relearn how to share, learn to see how they can talk to each other. Wanting to experiment with something a little different.
And this goes right to the top. Next year we are organising a major conference in the UK, relating to Health and Wellbeing. We will be inviting speakers from all over, and broadcasting to as wide an audience as possible. It is important that people feel that they can make a difference somehow. That they feel excited again. If this sounds interesting to you - please visit our website www.phihealth.org.uk and get in touch.

Before you go I would like to share one thought.
I beleive that one of the root causes of unrest and disfunction is exploitation. By that I mean exploitation of other people. It is up to all of us to look at how we can stop this. Exploitation of another beings life is a social crime.
So have a real look and see if you are exploting someone in your life

Thanks for reading and much love to you

Andrew
