About
My main interest is in the area of sustainability. We face some pretty big challenges (as we all know) so I reckon we should be thinking outside the square a little. But the more I think outside the square - the more I come back to some pretty simple ideas. These are simple ideas that have been with us all along.
Education - Degrees in Mechanical Engineering & Environmental Science (Ecology major), some Permaculture training.
Also spent 3 years in the Army. Currently I work in natural resources management.
I have written a book summarising some ideas about:
- how spirituality can be brought into 'scientific' thinking
- how we need to live more simply
- how we will need to find security in each other (as a community), not ourselves as individuals
It also talks about aliens & the Great Pyramid - but hey, you can take all that in a metaphoric sense if you like.
It's an interesting and thought-provoking read.
Check it out via the online bookstoreSustainable Insight:
I've attached a low resolution PDF in the 'Files & Photos' tab (on this page).

Other stuff I'd recommend on sustainability:
- Global Footprint Network - http://www.footprintnetwork.org/en/index.php/GFN/page/world_footprint/
- “Arithmetic, Population and Energy” - the lecture by Dr Albert A. Bartlett, Professor Emeritus, Department of Physics, University of Colorado at Boulder (plenty of copies are on the Web)
