The city of San Francisco recently passed a mandatory composting ordinance that will require all residents and businesses to begin composting and recycling by October 21, 2009. The city has initiated this plan in an attempt to reach a 2010 goal of 75% waste diversion from landfill. San Francisco is already a model city for waste management but to continue being a global leader, new efforts are being made. At 3^rd Spaces, we understand the requirements of the new ordinance and can help you meet its challenges while reducing cost for your business and finding hidden profits.

We believe that by making all San Francisco entertainment venues compliant with the new composting ordinance, compliance efforts in other sectors will be accelerated.

Our methods are based on a three-phase plan: Awareness, Education, and Action. 3^rd Spaces raises awareness by collaborating with the government, commercial, and residential sectors of San Francisco. We work to ensure that commercial businesses and residents are aware of new environmental mandates and that the government is aware of the city’s needs in terms of environmental policy. We then educate through a network of bay area environmentally focused organizations combined with our own curriculum to provide a concise and wealthy database for clients to use. Next, we implement a customized action plan to ensure our clients gain the most from our services.
