I read somewhere that "The Earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof" and when He gets back, He'll redeem His own property. As His personal friend, I have peace about it, but not everyone follows that thinking.
Lordship is a lingering paradigm in western civilization particularly and "ownership" of anything is indeed notional. This problem is at the core of a multitude of problems in land use, especially when it comes to infrastructure and the watersheds. This solution needs to continue development.
