I have submitted your webpage to the food service of a Beauport, Quebec hospital... I strongly recommend to aim institutions, not only households... Institutions such as the hospital I work at are despaired for solutions to lower their energy bills... Promotion is necessary: who are the right people to contact in each public building? How can we convince the key public administrators to open to this wonderful energy saving solution? PErhaps THEY would be interested in funding staff.... I believe 1-800-O-Canada could provide tips about who to call... |

Good Idea!
I have often looked at the snow outside while the frige grinds away. Made me think of getting cold air to the heat exchanger tubes. It seems like a more sanitary thing than routing outside air with dust and polution into the food compartment. Also, using outlside air only wheen its cold enough to chill the food limits the fix to seasonal availability. Any source of air cooler than the room the frige is in could increase the efficency of the device. It could come from outside in winter, in the basement in summer, from an evaporative cooler or even be piped in from a cooling clump of moist vegitation....
