It took each one of us to create the environmental danger that we are now facing and I believe that it will take the efforts of everyone making lifestyle changes to clean it up. The solution I offer is to sing a fun song and make a pledge to "do one small thing to make a stand and live more lightly upon the land".

Everyone can take individual action to help to solve environmental problems and the Live More Lightly workshop encourages them to take the first easy step. Many people feel overwhelmed by the problem, as the song lyrics state, "You can put the blame on society, what can be changed by one person like me?" my answer is, "Just do one thing some time today, to ease your passage and find your way."

 

 

 

 

To increase individual action on personal environmental impact we need to make people aware of what they can do and help them to remember to do it. By doing a Live More Lightly Workshop, communities can support each individual and other communities commitment to do one small lifestyle change.

The book and disk package titled, The Live More Lightly Songbook and Workshop Guide, will provide all of the required materials for any group to host a Live More Lightly Workshop. The book will have lists of things to do and workshop instructions, plus inspirational photographs of the natural world. The disk will have supoort materials such as a recording of the song, printable resources such as handout sheets with suggestions and lyrics, posters, sign up sheets, and other helpful items, The disk will also contain links to web resources and print books that can give more assistance.

My current plan is to set up a Wiki community to involve individuals who take the workshop in reporting their progress on their pledge. However, I could really use some help on this aspect.

The main limitation is the amount of time I can devote to the project and my meager financial resources.

I am doing the best I can to network and promote this solution, but I need to find funding to move this work forward.
