Problem: Corporate/Special interests control the legislature of the USA. The convention clause of the US Constitution was written to prevent this. All fifty states have applied for the Article V Convention, the trick is to get this idea of coming together in a convention to a tipping-point majority of Americans. A popular documentary can do this. http://www.articlev.org

Heart & Soul Community Planning
Steering change through people, places, and values
Steering change through people, places, and values
Problem: Small cities and towns across America face many challenges. Towns that
are close to significant natural resource amenities face increasing
development pressures from urban professionals plying their trades via
the Internet and enjoying the great outdoors, and from burgeoning
retirement populations seeking the high quality, low stress way of life
found in these picturesque and desirable places. Other communities
suffer from youth exodus, crumbling infrastructure and antiquated
economies, and a...
Action: A community is a special place full of stories of the people who live there. Collectively, these stories are a big part of the community’s character: its heart and soul. In a way, planning is like writing the next chapter in a community’s story. As we enter the 21st century, there are signs that citizens expect to have a greater role in community decisions. In The Next Form of American Democracy, Matt Leighninger wrote, “[C]itizens seem better at governing, and worse at being governed, than e...

Problem: OUR CURRENT POWER GENERATION SYSTEM USES AN UNSUSTAINABLE MODEL, THAT HAS LED MANKIND INTO THE WRONG PATH
The world needs more electricity in the next 30 years. The US will grow its capacity, but China and India who are currently under supplied, are carrying a very rapid aggressive expansion policy to generate more than they currently produce. Current supply models are centralized, generate electricity using very large plants from multiple sources of energy, both non-renewable and renewab...

Problem: As efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions increase, so do the sources of ‘carbon financing’ and the size of the international ‘carbon market’. Greenhouse gas abatement activities can have both beneficial and detrimental impacts on the communities in which they operate. For this reason, it is vital that Indigenous communities have accurate information about carbon financing and carbon market processes at the outset – to help them make informed decisions and choices about activities that wo...
