About  [Edit]

This document provides a framework for understanding both the positive and negative roles that business can play in situations of violent conflict. For this purpose, the two main sections of the report provide examples and analytical frameworks for assessing:

• Factors determining the role of business in conflicts
• How business can make positive contribution to conflict prevention and resolution

In the face of the growing importance of domestic and multinational companies in conflict-prone or conflict-ridden countries, this report provides a framework for business engagement in the changing context of business and the changing nature of conflict.
