 ‘THE DREAM REBORN’
Unprecedented Conference Aims to Keep the Dream Alive on
40th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Assassination

On April 4-6, Green For All, whose mission is to help build a green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty, will bring organizations and leaders from communities across the nation together for an extraordinary experience: The Dream Reborn. The three-day conference, set to take place at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, TN, will be a potent, unforgettable event that will commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 40th anniversary of his assassination and present positive solutions for social and environmental equity from today’s generation of visionary leaders.

Throughout the weekend, participants will have the opportunity to hear from those on the forefront of the green-collar movement, including Van Jones (Green For All), Majora Carter (Sustainable South Bronx), Winona LaDuke (Honor the Earth), Robert Bullard (Environmental Justice Resource Center), Malia Lazu (The Gathering for Justice), LaDonna Redmond (Institute for Community Resource Development), Paul Hawken (Author, Blessed Unrest), Mary Ann Hitt (Appalachian Voices), Reverend Yearwood (Hip Hop Caucus), Adrienne Maree Brown (Ruckus Society), Tony Anderson (Morehouse College Student Leader), Ian Kim (Oakland Green Jobs Corps), Bracken Hendricks (Center for American Progress), Rinku Sen (Applied Research Center), Jerome Ringo (Apollo Alliance), Afeni Shakur (Amaru Entertainment), Evon Peter (Native Movement), Karl Carter (Inner City Enterprises), and more.

The Dream Reborn will showcase some of the most innovative policy initiatives, models and thinking around climate justice and the new green economy through a series of speeches, panels and workshops, including: Why Green Jobs Now?; National Movement For Green Jobs; Launching a Local Green-Collar Jobs Initiative; Food Justice and the Green Economy; Green-Collar Job Training Programs; Civil Rights, Hip Hop and the New Eco-Equity Movement; and Building a Youth Movement for Green Jobs.
