The greenerFramework - A Sustainability Program Maturity Model
Link: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=px7hR5UMZIbvWvGEL0jhVZw
greenerFramework describes possible paths for how sustainability programs could develop over time.
The greenerFramework describes five levels of program maturity:
Level 5: Optimized Institution - The sustainability program is a model internally and externally, and it strives for continual improvement
Level 4: Quantitatively Managed Program -The sustainability program is on par with peer programs within the institution in terms of acceptance, leadership expectations, performance
Level 3: Planned Response - The institution has a complete, documented approach to addressing problems
Level 2: Baselined - The Team has produced deliverables describing the nature and extent of the problem
Level 1: Recognized Need - There is a mandate, and a sustainability Team will be organized to explore issues and options
Each maturity level is described using one of the following focus areas:
- Leadership Driver: What do managers and executives care most about?
- Team Driver: What motivates the Program Team?
- Target Results Sources: Where should the Team expect to see positive results?
- Target Projects: What kinds of work can the Team be expected to accomplish?
- Source Data: What sort of information needs to be collected by Leaders and the Team?
- Reporting: What internal communication is taking place?
- Communication: What is being shared externally and with stakeholders?
