About  [Edit]

This eloquently short 3-page position paper accurately describes the ecological barriers associated with the pursuit of an infititely growing economy. It suggests an alternative system, whereby wealthy countries focus on economic delvelopment rather than growth. Without providing too many details, it aptly argues the case for the switch to a steady-state economy.

This draft originated from a proposal at the Eighth Biennial Conference held in Montreal, Canada, July 11-14, 2004, and was edited pursuant to comments received following the Ninth Biennial Conference in Delhi, India, December 15-18, 2006.
