About  [Edit]

TheCompensators* are launching a contest open to everybody around the world to raise awareness about climate change. TomorrowsGlobalSociety* is about possible futures for Planet Earth and its inhabitants: us.

The Background: Climate change is real. Its impacts can be detected already today and will become far more serious if effective mitigation and adaptation measures are not undertaken. There is widespread agreement that the global temperature increase should not exceed 2°C above the pre-industrial level. However, there is no credible plan - neither from politics nor from business – on how to reach this target.

The Contest: How on earth can we live together? How can we make sure that all life forms are preserved for centuries to come? Use your imagination, create, and tell us your story about TomorrowsGlobalSociety.

Everyone is invited to participate and to deliver ideas to one of the following categories: Visual, Audio, Audio- Visual, Paper, Items, Black Box.
TheCompensators* are aware of the fact that information, when shared, can travel a long way. The best submissions will be awarded and travel with a moving exhibition to touch as many places and minds as possible. A coffee-table book and a DVD will also be produced and distributed.

The Facts:
Start of the competition: May 4th, 2007
Deadline for entries: December 1st, 2007

The Prizes: The jury will select the best submissions. These will be used to produce the coffee-table book, and a DVD. All submitted pieces will be displayed on the website, and a selection of them will be part of a moving exhibition. The 3 best submissions of each category will be rewarded with a copy of the book and the DVD. A climate board game Winds of Change will be given to fourth to tenth place of each category.

confident it will be a nice surprise for you. If you are a company and interested in sponsoring prizes for the competition, please contact us at info[at]tomorrowsglobalsociety.org
