I like to view this article/clip in the context of the work of the developing group http://www.carrotmob.org/welcome.html

 

That kind of thing can be done in communities throughout the world and have direct impact locally to collectively create a global grass roots shift to values-based consumerism and social awareness.  It would be great if more college and high school students could be encouraged to creatively utilize media-technology / culture to leverage change in ways like these.
