About [Edit]
The documentary "PEACE BY PEACE: Women on the Frontlines"
was filmed by PEACE X PEACE as its first action in the world to
re-define peace as the components of harmonious and just societies,
such as financial equity, restorative justice, rights of education and
speech, inclusive governments, and more. It also shows that women are
on the ground working for these components of peace every day around
the world, and that those methods of peacebuilding need to be supported.
Narrated by Actress Jessica Lange, the documentary had its world premier at United Nations Headquarters in 2003 on the third anniversary of UN Resolution 1325 on "Women, Peace, and Security." It has since been seen in countless nations and in venues that include private home viewings, educational institutions, and television broadcasts around the world.
The documentary, filmed through 2002-03, is available in an 86-minute-version which includes in-depth reportage from Afghanistan, Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Burundi, and the United States. It is also available in a 55-minute-version that was shown on PBS stations across the U.S. and Canada.
