About  [Edit]

In honor of the United Nation’s International Day of Peace, more than 200 Rollins students, faculty and staff dressed in white created a human peace sign symbol Friday, September 21 on Mills Lawn.

The event is hosted by IMPACT, a Rollins student organization that encourages and facilitates discussion among students about social justice issues. This is the second year Rollins participated in the human peace sign demonstration.

The International Day of Peace was developed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1981. The goal of the day is to spread awareness of global peace. Individuals, organizations and schools all over the world gather for a moment of silence at noon on this day and usually wear white to signify the feathers of a white dove.
