In every society throughout the world children are subject to violence, often at the hands of those duty bound to care for and protect them. Children have a right to protection and to be free from all forms of violence1, but this right is violated routinely and extensively.

Plan believes there should be no more excuses for violence against children and no compromise in ensuring their protection.

The purpose of this document is to describe Plan’s position regarding violence against children, our approach to work on this issue and the priority actions we are undertaking in support of ending violence against children.
