The GEAR Campaign to create a new women's entity at the UN made big strides
on June 16th when governments vowed to tackle the issue. WEDO is working to
ensure that a report by the Secretary-General on the structure of such an
entity, scheduled for release in mid-July, reflects key points of the
campaign.
For further information about the detailed notes on the consultation, as
well as the GEAR Campaign's formal submission to the UN on current gender
gaps in the system, please visit http://www.wedo.org/
