John Taylor Gattos work "The Underground History of American Education" traces the genesis of the project of State Education, a project that took over 100 years of constant activity, identifying both it's sponsors and itheir real (hidden) agenda.

It is not easy reading, in that it exposes what amounts to the most massive crime of all time, a crime that is sustained to this day, the indoctrination and behavioural modification of children, and of adults, for mere profit.

It is easy reading in that Gatto has a great non-stylistic way with words and expresses himself on paper as if he were speaking to you in your living room, over a cup of tea or coffee. His research is breathtaking, and what he uncovers reveals much that helps make sense of why we are where we are today, with regards to wars, pollution, wmd and our complicity in all of that.

Without this knowledge and the understanding that arises from it, activists are essentially crippled.
