Globalization has increased the supply of trafficked sex slaves, driving down prices and feeding "consumer" demand. Siddharth Kara uses a unique business analysis of the problem to show how the profitability of the supply chain can be disrupted by raising the risks and penalties for traffickers.
This video from the Carnegie Council's policyinnovation.org website is an excellent starting place for those interested in the business that drives modern slavery. The framing and narrative that is explored by the author is clear and concise, and the information revealed is based on intensive and dedicated research.
This piece is different than most I have read/watched/listened to in that the tactics and scholarship is both elevated and driving. The vision is clear, the path to follow open. Worth watching if you are interested in ethics,business,human rights, women, and the list goes on.
The war on slavery CAN be won.
