KoreaecolabelKorea Eco-labelling Program is an voluntary certification program to choose eco-products:
  • from the products for the same purpose and display the designated logo (Eco-Label) and brief description,
  • in order to reduce consumption of energy and resources and to minimize generation of pollution substances
  • in each production step (raw material acquisition → production → distribution → application → disposition).
  • “Eco-Label” transfers a type of information to let buyers and consumers know that products with the Eco-Label are eco-products.
  • Producers or sellers can utilize the Eco-Label certification as the marketing means for their products.
Korea Eco-labelling Program is undertaken by governments and agencies in approximately 40 countries, including Korea, EU, Nordic Council, Canada, Japan.

- Internationally, an international association of eco-labelling program operating agencies, Global Eco-labelling
- Network (GEN) has been organized. Korea joined GEN in 1997, and has been an active member since.
- Act on the Promotion of the Purchase of Environment-Friendly Products Program Operation
- The Ministry of Environment and KOECO are in charge of operating the Eco-labelling program.
