About [Edit]
Spatial Interest organizes news and information concerning natural resources, land use, and economics. Settlement and development patterns extend into rural landscapes, pressuring land owners to trade the sense of place for the cents of place. Organizations, both for-profit and non-profit, intervene in the marketplace to influence land use conversion. Of particular interest are market based incentives that sustain historical uses of working lands, their rural communities, and the sense of place.
Case studies are published by Spatial Interest in an on-line magazine named Trading Sense. The reader accesses the stories through a web based geographic browser (Google Earth). The browser and the web site are free of charge.
