About  [Edit]

The Australian Government's Community Water Grants program offers grants to help local community organizations save, recycle or improve the health of their local water resources.

Grants are available for projects related to:
* water saving and efficiency
* water recycling
* water treatment - improving surface and groundwater health.

Community Water Grants is one of the three national programs in the $2 billion Australian Government Water Fund, and will provide a total of $200 million over five years to help communities play a positive role in managing Australia's water resources. The grants encourage better water use and will improve water health through practical on-the-ground projects.

Your group is eligible to apply for an Australian Government Community Water grant if it is a:
* rural organization
* local government
* school, university or childcare facility
* Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander corporation, council or incorporated association
* fundraising organization, such as a Rotary or Lions club
* sporting and outdoor recreation club
* health care organization, such as a nursing home
* environmental group
Individuals and firms may be eligible for Community Water Grants if their proposed activities have a very high public benefit.

Information about application procedures and sample projects are available on the Program's website.
