About  [Edit]

Events for NW Environmental Education Council

BACKGROUND: We were founded by Erick McWayne in May of 2000. Our headquarters is located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle and includes a large training facility for hosting events on site. Our programs serve approximately 3,000 people per year across the western United States. These services are provided by our staff, volunteers, and contractors (experts hired for specific projects).

WHAT WE DO: We provide in-school and after-school environmental education programs for youth; training programs for school teachers; training programs for environmental professionals (e.g., scientists, engineers, and government agency staff); and service learning programs for all ages that improve environmental quality (e.g., native habitat restoration and natural resource conservation).

SERVICE AREA: NWEEC provides services in Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. We also occasionally host events in other parts of the U.S.

MISSION: Our mission is to foster an ecologically sustainable world through diverse educational opportunities, professional training, and strategic partnerships in the Pacific Northwest.
