About

Electricity infrastructures running at or near peak capacity has prompted some cities to make an effort to ease the stress on these systems. By installing appliances that are controlled by the utility company it gives them the ability to switch these appliances off if the infrastructure is overstressed. Cities have also entertained the idea of installing decentralized generation units in energy improvement districts that would be created to aid in managing electricity usage. The DG units would provide power to a business that consumed a large amount of energy further easing the stress on the electric infrastructure.
