How did we get started?
The Grants Managers Network provides a forum to exchange information about grants management and its relevance to efficient and effective grantmaking. GMN is in its ninth year as an affinity group of the Council on Foundations and is a project of the Rockefeller Family Fund. GMN members meet at the regional level to improve the practice of grants management and build collegial relationships. GMN provides a number of services to its members including: an online community knowledgebase, quarterly newsletters and salary surveys.
Membership in the GMN is open to any person currently employed by a grantmaking organization who holds responsibility for grants management or for a portion of the grants management function.
What's next?
- Helping our members start regional networks so they can benefit from in-person networking.
- Further development of GMN's communications tools, such as GIGI and the GMN newsletter, in order to provide leading and cutting edge information on the grants management field.
- Planning GMN's annual meeting and program in New York City, April 2-4, 2006.
