We are a native women artisan group who decided to form a production cooperative. We are the original Designers and Producers. As Artisans, we have a very old training, coming from our prior generations. In the 1980s's the popular Abalone Jewelry was made in our home town of Tecalpulco. We are proud of every piece that we create and produce and employ precise and exact techniques of labor intense, quality controlled handcraft.

One of the things that makes Artcamp such a diferent cooperative comes from the New model for bussines on a fair trade bases call New World Women.

New World Women is a Distribution of elegant, ethnic, style-setting jewelry is a revolutionary producer-driven, efficient, responsive, authentic, and sustainable commerce model respecting the dignity and goals of the artisan producers.

This is accomplished with orders that can realistically
be integrated into the local cottage industry;
in such a way that family production shops provide
a steady, viable, economic benefit to craftspeople.
so the family men are not tempted to migrate to the USA. 

A New World Women Distributor is a person who has set-up as a
stocking distributor, products on shelves ready to ship to customers.

In exchange for doing this,
the silversmiths and craftspeople
give a very low producer-direct price that
underwrites the success of the NWW Distributors.

This model is producer-driven and designed
to advantage to village-based artisan community
as well as the successful New World Women distributors.

The idea is to let the New World Women distributors
in the United States and elsewhere take advantage
of the profit margins in the fashion jewelry business.

This is an incentive to sell more and generate orders
which represent more united families in the villages.
