About [Edit]
The Latin American Integration Center (LAIC) was established in 1992 as a non-profit and non-partisan community based organization. For over one decade, LAIC has worked to strengthen New York City’s low-income Latin American communities. Since its inception, LAIC has helped more than 12,000 immigrants become American citizens and serves thousands of immigrants in Queens and Staten Island every year through its wide array of services.
LAIC’s mission is to:
- Protect the human and civil rights of immigrants by increasing access to social services and supporting participation in political processes
- Empower immigrants through advocacy, popular education, leadership development and community organizing
