The term HuaQiao is the English transliteration of two Chinese words meaning "China Bridge." It is also a homonym for "Overseas Chinese."
HuaQiao is a 501 [C] 3 non-profit organization based in San Francisco and Shanghai. It is founded by a group of committed, hands-on, and project-oriented professionals, many of whom are Rotarians living in China and the U.S.
HuaQiao believes strongly in the application of good business ethics and full accountability and transparency to charitable projects.
HuaQiao has no paid executives. 100% of the donations will go directly into programs.
Activities
1. Provide educational assistance to promising students through scholarships, mentor program or subsidy of living expenses.
2. Provide pen pal for high school students impacted by AIDS
3. Provide medical assistance to needy children with congenital eye or heart diseases.
4. provide basic life-sustaining necessities to the needy families as immediate relief
