About [Edit]
Arcadia Community Center was founded in the year 2000 by a group of dedicated Louisville residents who saw a growing need for community partnership in Louisville’s south end. The Arcadia neighborhood was [and still is] unique because it is home to a growing number of immigrants and refugees from all over the world who have come to the United States seeking better lives for themselves and their families.
Within the last five years we have expanded from a single apartment in the Arcadia neighborhood to almost an entire building in order to accommodate our many programs and services. We offer several programs designed to provide resources and awareness to residents of all ages and cultural backgrounds, and we also have special programs for children and youth where they can come to have fun in a safe, constructive environment.
Programs at Arcadia:
English as a Second Language
After School Program
Arcadia Food Pantry
Arcadia Clothes Closet
Early Childhood Program
Neighborhood Association
Neighborhood Watch
Hispanic Women’s Group
Arcadia Youth Summer Camp
Youth Citizens Police Academy
Translation/Interpretation Services
Job Placement Services
Seasonal Celebrations and Cultural Feasts
