About [Edit]
The Association for Youth in Care is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 by a group of young people needing support. It is run by and for young people, between the ages of 14 and 24, who are or have been in care. They help themselves, and others / in and from care, through support, advocacy, public education, facilitating the development of Youth in Care groups, improving services, and reporting on the special needs of youth in and from care. Members of the Association were part of National / Consultations on Juvenile Prostitution. Development of a directory of services for street youth was proposed at the 2nd consultation. The original directory and a more recent second edition was prepared by the Association on behalf of the National / Committee on Street Youth.
