About [Edit]
This is the umbrella Coalition for the New York Coalition for OneVoice (also profiled at Wiser.Earth) and its Environmental Circle. This Coalition played a key role in founding the WiserEarth Group New York City Metro Coalition (see that Group and Profile). See also at WiserEarth: New York Coalition for One Voice (extensive profile at that location) and Environmental Circle Coalition for One Voice. As well, further information is available at www.coalitionforonevoice.org and its Focus Circle Subsite: Environmental Focus Circle.
Brief summary of longer profile at New York Coalition for One Voice is as follows: we were formed in 2006 to "create a collective energy" among persons and organizations in the New York City region doing any and all kinds of "transformational" and "spiritually/ethically motivated" work. We have 150 member organizations and 1500 persons; we function through a horizontal core leadership of about 60 persons, all leaders in their own right of organizations, networks, and NGO's in the New York City area. We currently have 18 "Focus Circles" meeting regularly to address areas of particular interest (Education, Politices, Media, Environment, Arts and Theatre, "Being the Change" etc. etc., see www.coalitionforonevoice.org). We have a newsletter (contact kurtjohnsonisd@yahoo.com) and interactive website (URL above). We have hosted several major New York community events, involving hundreds of persons, concerning the collective energy of transformational work in the New York City area. We work closely with, and are composed of, many NGO's accredited by the United Nations Department of Public Information and also "Caucus's" of such groups at the UN (see the Group profile at New York City Metro Coalition which lists us and our many cooperating groups). We welcome all fellow travellers in the New York City metropolitan region to look into our work and contact us. We particularly represent interest in the interface of environmental activism and that regarding ethics, spirituality and human rights (social justice).
We support the work and vision of Paul Hawken and his associates, and www.wiserearth.org because it shares with our Coalition the same values and goals. Contact us if you are a fellow traveller in the New York City area.
