Our Mission:

The mission of the Forum on Restorative Community Justice is to stimulate the growth of safe and healthy communities through engaging community partners in the prevention and repair of harm by embracing restorative community justice principles and practices.

Our Vision:
Community partners engaging in the prevention and repair of harm, while working toward safe and healthy communities.

Our Vision Works When:

  • True and trusting partnerships are developed
  • All voices are valued, including those not previously heard
  • Restorative community justice principles and practices are the driving force of organizations
  • The justice system is equally accountable to communities, to victims of crime and to those who commit offenses
  • We recognize and use the strengths that exist within the community
  • Communities, including victims of crime and those who commit offenses, are able to choose their levels of participation in restorative processes.

  • Open, honest communication between community members, including victims and offenders.

Organizations Goals:

The Forum on Restorative Community Justice (Forum on RCJ) mission strives to empower policymakers, professionals and citizens to work in partnership to develop constructive responses to crime and disorder through the overarching goals by:

*Facilitating partnerships between the community, justice system, neighborhood groups, schools, human services, mental health, neighborhood groups, faith community, and civic organizations.

*Providing training & technical assistance to professionals, organizations, and citizens, design and implement restorative community justice principles, programs, policies and procedures.

*Exploring the boundaries of RCJ philosophy and practical experiences for new possibilities across multiple disciples and communities and incubate promising programs.
