The Chin Forum is a common platform open to all Chins of different political views or affiliations interest in working together for common democratic objectives. The Forum is not a political party but an organization focused on doing research and documentation works to assist the Chin peoples' struggle for freedom and democracy. The Forum, among others, aims to continuously strengthen the unity among the Chin democratic forces and also with all the other democratic forces of Burma, including the other ethnic nationalities. To pursue its aims and objectives the Chin Forum formed up three working groups at its inception in Ottawa (1998) and following the resolution reached during the Round Table Meetings of the Working Group (I) and the Chin Forum Management Body in Washington DC (15 March 1 April, 1999) there are now altogether six Working Groups.
