About  [Edit]

To enable every child in the word to participate in the global economy.

Letter from CEO.

You probably heard of or read the book “The World is Flat” written by Thomas L. Friedman http://www.thomaslfriedman.com/worldisflat.htm .

Here is the brief synopsis of this book that I found on the web site mentioned above:
“History of the world twenty years from now, and they come to the chapter "Y2K to March 2004," what will they say was the most crucial development? The attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11 and the Iraq war? Or the convergence of technology and events that allowed India, China, and so many other countries to become part of the global supply chain for services and manufacturing, creating an explosion of wealth in the middle classes of the world's two biggest nations, giving them a huge new stake in the success of globalization? And with this "flattening" of the globe, which requires us to run faster in order to stay in place, has the world gotten too small and too fast for human beings and their political systems to adjust in a stable manner?...”
I wanted to address the same issue from the slightly different angle:
- how we might be impacted by the uneven participation of different countries in the global economy.
- How US can help the countries other than India, China, etc to build and grow people who could be employable in the new “flat world” economy.

The conclusion I made is the following: it is in the best interest of the United States to provide all support needed to all the developing countries in order to them to be able to actively participate in variety of business activities on a global basis.
Then I stepped back and decided to analyze the core skill sets that are needed for one to be employable in this new global business world.
They are as following:
- English language skills;
- Computer/Internet literacy
- Cultural/communication awareness.
That’s how the idea of Global Learning Foundation was conceived.

Of course the main target population for us is the kids, but you will not be able too much just targeting kids without including the similar educational opportunities to their teachers and parents.

I welcome your inputs, suggestions, ideas on this program and our mission!
