The mission of African American Women Evolving, Inc. [AAWE] is to increase the activism and leadership of Black women around reproductive health. AAWE further works to examine and draw the connections between other social justice and basic human rights issues [i.e., violence against women, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, economic development and sustainability, etc.] that directly and indirectly affect Black women`s ability to exercise complete autonomy over their lives and bodies.



A membership-based organization, AAWE works to create a direct response from Black women at the grassroots level to social and economic policies that impact their overall reproductive health.
