About [Edit]
Pennsylvania Hunger Action Center is a non-profit organization working with partners across the Commonwealth to end hunger. Hunger Action's mission focuses on ensuring food security for all Pennsylvanians.
The Pennsylvania Hunger Action Center works to end hunger and increase opportunities for all Pennsylvanians to meet their food needs with health and dignity. In existence for 25 years, formerly as the Pennsylvania Coalition for Food and Nutrition, the Center serves as an active voice to shape public food policy.
The Center's efforts focus on:
* Advocacy
* Linking people to food
* Policy studies, news, alerts
* Anti-hunger networking
Hunger Action hosts the Nutrition Education Network (NEN), a group of organizations and individuals committed to encouraging healthful food choices by low-income Pennsylvanians. The NEN, which is supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the PA Department of Public Welfare, and Penn State University, enables Hunger Action to strengthen and expand its emphasis on nutritious food and the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.
