Build It Green is a professional non-profit organization whose mission is to transform the building industry, so that more buildings are remodeled and built using green practices and products, thereby sustaining and enhancing ecological, social and economic assets for future generations. We are dedicated to creating healthier, more durable, and energy and resource-efficient buildings in California to sustain and enhance the quality of our lives and the lives of future generations.
Partnering with public agencies, building industry professionals, manufactures suppliers and non-profits, Build It Green offers education, unbiased product information, technical assistance and training. Build It Green provides a critical link between consumers, building professionals and green product manufacturers.

The Build It Green organization expanded significantly in the spring of 2005 when Bay Area Build It Green and the Green Resource Center merged to form "Build It Green," a single entity. ["Bay Area" was officially dropped from the name to remove geographic limitations of the organization.]
