About [Edit]
Ayala Foundation USA [AF-USA] was established to serve as a bridge between Filipino communities in the US and in the Philippines by:
providing Filipinos based in the US with an effective mechanism for philanthropic giving to support social development initiatives in the Philippines, and providing local nonprofit organizations with access to an alternative and non-traditional source of funds for programs and projects.
AF-USA was registered in the year 2000 with the US Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501[c][3] of the Internal Revenue Code. It was launched at the 2000 National Congress of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations [NaFFAA] in Las Vegas, Nevada. Donations through AF-USA are deductible from income taxes in the US.
AF-USA offers the following programs and services:
Adopt-A-Barangay Program
Database on Donation Opportunities in the Philippines
Lingkod Pinoy
Filipino-American Youth Leaders Fellowship Program:
The Filipino-American Youth Leaders Fellowship Program is an 8-week summer work program for Filipino-Americans who want to contribute to social development in the Philippines through firsthand exposure, experience and action.
Fifteen to twenty fellows that are bright, self-motivated individuals of Filipino heritage, who are proven and emerging leaders committed to ethical and effective leadership, will be chosen to participate on a summer training and work program in the Philippines.
Adopt-A-Barangay Program:
Of the Philippines’ 42,000 barangays or villages, close to 70% or 29,400 are considered small, poor, and requiring support for the most basic social services.
In response, AF-USA developed the Adopt-A-Barangay Program – a menu of livelihood and basic services needing funding assistance. Adopt-A-Barangay is AF-USA’s contribution to provide basic service facilities and livelihood assistance to the country’s poor barangays by generating support from US-based Filipinos.
