About  [Edit]

The One Spirit Learning Alliance and its Interfaith Seminary (www.onespiritinterfaith.org) anchor a large interfaith community which has been operating in the New York City area for nearly a decade.  The Learning Alliance and Seminary, located at 330 West 38th St., Suite 1500, New York, NY 10018, offer a wide range of courses, programs and activities, for seminary, public and also long-distance learning.  These concern the relationship of the "Common Core of Human Wisdom", as inculcated in a trans-traditional, trans-cultural and worldcentric vision, to world issues and world change.  The Learning Alliance and Seminary are not only an academic and spiritual community but an activist and socially engaged community.

Building from a long history of engagement in education and "sacred activism", the Learning Alliance and Seminary initiated in 2007 new programs centering especially on the trans-traditional view of religion and spirituality pioneered by the late Bro. Wayne Teasdale (author of The Mystic Heart: Discovering a Universal Spirituality in the World's Religions) and the vision of the integral thinkers like Ken Wilber and Don Beck.  These courses and programs form the "Interspirituality and Integral Multifaith" program of the Alliance and Seminary (www.onespiritinterfaith.org [Integral Multifaith]).  The Learning Alliance is headed by Rev. Michael Pergola J.D., MBA and the Interfaith Seminary by Rev. Dr. Diane Berke.  Rev. Berke has been active with Dr. Andrew Harvey in promulgation of "sacred activism" on a worldwide level; Rev. Pergola J.D., MBA is active across a number of educational and conscious business enterprises.

The Alliance and Seminary also offer wide-ranging programs and courses in Spiritual Depth, Counseling, Interfaith Ordained Ministry, along with a Leadership Curriculum and programs in Environmental Issues and the Common Core of Human Wisdom.  The One Spirit Learning Alliance and Seminary also regularly host community groups and programs and meetings of many other New York City wide groups and networks.  One Spirit is a founding member of New York's Coalition for OneVoice (www.coalitionforonevoice.org) and words closely with the Conscious Business, InterSpiritual Dialogue, Integral and Environmental "Focus Circles" of that Coalition.

One Spirit Learning Alliance has been happy to join in 2008 with others in the New York City area to form at WiserEarth.org both the "New York City Metro Coalition" and this new group which especially caters to the ethics-, values- and faith-based groups, persons, communities and networks in that Coalition and in the wider New York City region.   For matters involving the InterSpirituality and Integral Multifaith program and the work of the Alliance as part of this Group at WiserEarth contact Dr. Kurt Johnson, kurtjohnsonisd@yahoo.com, who along with teaching world religions and intergral spirituality at One Spirit is a well known tropical ecologist and evolutionary biologist associated professionally for nearly 20 years with the American Museum of Natural History.
