Friends of Camp Colton, Inc. is a private, nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization.The Mission is to create sustainable funding mechanism to ensure continued operation of Camp Colton outdoor and environmental education programs.



Goals



- To increase student understanding and awareness of the environment and conservation.



- To provide students with knowledge and experience that will enhance their appreciation for the unique ecosystem of the San Francisco Peaks.



- To provide a hands-on approach to science education in the life, earth & physical sciences, in line with the Arizona Academic Standards for Science Education.



- To provide students an opportunity to relate arts and cultural projects into a science-based education program.



- To provide an opportunity for all sixth grade students to live in a camp setting, increase their social skills, accept personal responsibility, and strengthen their sense of self-esteem.
