About [Edit]
The Alpine Lakes region's ecological richness and popularity as an outdoor playground make it critical to protect the area from logging, mining, road building and damage from misuse and overuse.
ALPS is working to encourage environmentally-sensitive recreational opportunities including new trails and campgrounds in places like the Middle Fork and South Fork Snoqualmie valleys near North Bend, while opposing illplanned trails and motorized uses which threaten critical wildlife habitats.
Our goal is to maintain cordial relations with land managers, political leaders, and even timber companies, although we do not hesitate when necessary to use legal challenges and publicity to stop destructive activities.
