Moving For Peace is a grassroots organization that started in Leeds England with a Walk for Peace launched 10th July 2005. So far more than 8000 people have walked a cumulative total of over 31,000 miles. In November 2005 Moving For Peace was born as it was clear that some people could not 'walk' but wanted to participate.
We continue to facilitate walking, moving, dancing, riding, and any other activities for peace and record all miles and hours sent to us.
We also go into schools and present a peace assembly to the children, encouraging them to think about what peace means. We have a second assembly about bullying. The children receive peace candles and literature and many schools participate in the Walk for Peace. A CD is available with the assemblies (in PowerPoint) and other peace information.
