About [Edit]
Amnesty International, with 4000 chapters in over 60 countries, is the world's largest and most influential human rights organization. Amnesty International is non-partisan and is not affiliated with any government, corporation or political party. A.I. unilaterally seeks to uphold the rights of all individuals, regardless of nationality, creed, age, gender, race, class, political background or sexual orientation. We base our action on the rights guaranteed to all people under the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights law.
Amnesty International's Mandate specifically lists its prime goals as
seeking the release of all prisoners of conscience who have not advocated or used violence,
seeking the end to torture and all other forms of cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment,
end "disappearances" and political killings, and
uphold the rights of prisoners and refugees in all nations worldwide.
