ABOUT US

Who we are - Youth for Change International (YFCI) is a youth-led organization, campaign and online community that gets youth involved in making a difference and spreads the word about global actions. We inspire the world's youth to take action for what they believe in. We currently have around 300 members from countries around the globe.

What we do - Our Organization gets youth empowered by getting youth to inspire each other. YFCI has numberous on-and-offline projects that can get you to take action. Our ambassador program gets youth to understand what it is like in other countries. We connect youth to the issues by getting youth to talk about the things that matter to them. Our quarterly Magazine is TO YOUTH, BY YOUTH.

HISTORY

Roots - In the summer of 2005, Zach Komes, Founder, created a coffee stand on his street corner to benefit the international charities UNICEF and Heifer International. The stand earned almost $600 for the people of the world in the first year of service. Later, the stand was given the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee Youth Leadership Award Award, presented at the Milwaukee Community Center.

How we came to be - With inspiration from youth around the world at UNICEF's Voices of Youth Forums, we created the international organization. Our progress was slow, but eventually we topped 100 members in only 4 short months. After we celebrated our first year since founding, our members and staff decided that we should not only become an organization, but the "Youth Campaign for a Better World" as well. YFCI, with empowerment from its partners, launched its campaign to get youth to take action for global issues.
