About [Edit]
The Sierra Nevada Deep Ecology Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to informing and educating the general public on the principles and methods of restoring and preserving the environment. We further this cause through our community-based instructional programs. Our out-reach platform is aimed at attracting all segments of society, irrespective of age, including laymen, students, and professionals.
The Vision
The inspiration that came to Marge Kaiser isolated high on a mountain top,was to form an organization that integrates Deep Ecology theory with field work and wilderness experience, restoring unity and sustainability to our relationship with nature and each other.
Our Mission
1) To inform the general public in the principles of Deep Ecology and environmental ethics.
2) To provide field opportunities in environmental preservation, conservation and restoration.
3) To strive toward a deep connection with the natural world through direct wilderness experience.
4)To establish and nurture cooperative relationships among public and private interests, including environmental organizations, natural resource agencies and land-use industries.
